I get asked how to start running a lot. A lot. I love this question because it’s easy to answer: use Couch-to-5K or a program like it. But there’s a problem. C25K is hard. Like really hard. Especially if you’re not a runner. Even more so if you’re not active at all, and you’re just starting out with fitness and exercise.
In defense of Walmart bikes and discount running shoes. Expensive fitness gear is a luxury, rather than a necessity. Look at your needs and find the most appropriate gear you can for your personal situation. Even if the internet says what you buy is garbage, if it works for you, then it works for you.
After running 200 miles in my first pair of no-tie Lock Laces, I am never going to tie my running shoes with normal shoelaces ever again.
